The NBA playoffs first round was an exciting one. There were smashing dunks, crazy dribble moves, and shots that will have you still trying to pick your jaw off the floor, even a round later.
Take a look back on the 10 best highlights from the first round!
10. Russ Swats, Swerves, Scores.
Not only did Russ make a freakishly athletic block, but he also managed to go coast-to-coast, spin, go behind his back, and then finish with a layup. MVP type of stuff.
9. DeMar’s Disrespectful Dunk
The shot clock was running down, but that didn’t matter to DeMar. Giannis got out of the way, but Thon Maker thought he was going to block the dunk attempt and boy was he wrong.
8. LeBron’s Tomahawk Slam
He’s going to pass to Korver right? That’s what Monta Ellis thought, but instead LeBron destroys the rim with a tomahawk dunk. It’s probably a good idea for Ellis to run away anyway.
7. James Harden Texas Two Step
Reggie Miller called this move the “Texas Two Step” and it couldn’t be described any better. It’s mesmerizing the way that Harden is able to make Kanter fall asleep and then finish at the rim. Also MVP type of stuff.
6. Greek Freak Dunk Fest
It’s nearly impossible to pick one amazing dunk from Giannis, so here are three of his best. They all came in game one against the Raptors. Thank you, Giannis, for giving us so many to pick from.
5. Joe Johnson’s Clutch Bucket
Joe Johnson has hit big shots in his career before, and this game winner against the Clippers was just a clutch as any of them. On the road, just after the go ahead bucket from Chris Paul, and as time expires. Ice.
4. LeBron the Eraser
Andre Iguodala knows this play all too well. LeBron coming out of nowhere to send a layup to the stands (his teammate’s lap actually). The fact that LeBron had to duck to miss hitting his head on the rim is just unfair. If you play in the NBA and happen to have a layup against the Cavs, DO NOT TEST LEBRON.
3. Myles Turner Rim Rocker
The best part about this poster from Turner is the reaction after. The crowd is going bananas, Turner falls and then gets up to celebrate, and the Pacers’ bench does their job in pumping up the fans. This is why coaches say follow your shot right? Damn.
2. John Wall’s NASTY Poster
When I first watched this my jaw just dropped. The fact that John Wall dunked this hard with his left hand is scary. Apparently the memo about Wall being a beast around the rim isn’t out yet.
1. Off the Wall Slam
Fast break, behind the back, full speed, and it’s a poster. This is just down right dirty from J Wall. This sort of play is becoming something that he does on a game-to-game basis and I want to believe that I speak for every NBA fan out there when I say, please don’t ever stop doing these things Mr. Wall.
