It’s that point of the season where just about every game has the potential to hold some serious repercussions on the upcoming postseason. Tuesday night’s game between the Washington Wizards and Charlotte Hornets is no different.
The Hornets are currently in tenth place in the Eastern Conference standings, but they’re still only one game behind the Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers, who are currently tied for the final playoff spot in the East. Washington; well they’ve already secured home court advantage in the first round, but are still only four games away from being taking hold of the top seed in the East.
It may seem like a long shot for the Wizards to gain control of the number one seed, but with five games remaining in the regular season, anything is possible.
Washington currently occupies the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference, and a win tonight, paired with a Toronto Raptors loss, could put them back in control of the third seed. So, the Wizards turn their attention toward the Hornets in the hopes of re-climbing the Eastern Conference ladder.
At the end of the day, this game is very likely to be a showdown between two of the best guards in the East, John Wall and Kemba Walker. Both of the whom were all-stars this season and are nearing the end of what has been by far, their best seasons in the NBA.
Any offense created this game is sure to be done by these two and, in turn, they will each be tasked with stopping the other. That alone is enough a draw for this game, especially considering both Wall and Walker are fairly solid two-way players. Making this match-up a must watch.
This game is scheduled to tip-off at 7:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, at the Verizon Center in Washington D.C..
