All you New York Knicks fans were asking for this day to come, and y’all got a glimpse of the future Last Thursday
You fans boo Carmelo Anthony, and believe Derrick Rose is the player that prompts the New York Knicks to lose. However, this past game silenced your thoughts about Rose, and opinions that Anthony was the problem this year.
Well, on Thursday night, New York was blown out by the Portland Trailblazers and looked lost on both sides of the ball without having Rose and Melo. The Trail Blazers won 110-95. Melo and Rose both sat out because of minor injuries.
You fans say Rose is the problem on defense, but Ron Baker allowed Lillard to score 15 points in the first quarter and ended off with 30 points on 52 percent shooting. As a team, New York allowed the Trail Blazers to also shoot 52 percent and score 67 points heading into halftime.
You fans and critics say Carmelo Anthony is a bad leader and holds the ball too much. Well, there was no primary scorer on the floor last night, and that resulted in only scoring 95 points, which did not include a 30 point quarter as a team. Without Melo, no one on the floor could get an easy basket like he can.
Let’s settle down New York, you are moving too fast. Melo does not need to go anywhere at this moment especially if you want Porzingis and the young guys to develop.
Porzingis is still doing freshman things in games such as uncaused for fouls, unnecessary jump shots and not knowing how to post up the 6-foot guys. Wait ….. Porzingis is 7-foot-3 and does not know how to post up correctly? Yes, he’s still young and needs great players around him to get better.

Willy Hernangomez is an outstanding rookie and is getting comparisons to Marc Gasol, but his pick-and-roll defense and overall defense, for that matter, is way behind to be in the NBA. However, his offensive play sometimes picks up the bad defense play up.
Ron Baker! Ron Baker! Ron Baker! Chasson Randle! Chasson Randle!!! You fans scream those names because Rose is not the type of point guard to fit in the triangle. You fans want Randle and Baker, and that’s who you got last night. Both young guards are good but they not ready to take on starter minutes. Damien Lillard scored 15 points on Baker in the first quarter. Baker only ended up with 4 points. Yes, it’s ok to tank but you New York fans made it seem like Rose and Melo were the issue.
You fans are so quick to blame just two players on the team, but the young players represented New York badly in Portland. The Knicks played like they did not give any effort at all.
You fans want New York to rebuild/tank and move on from the veterans but are you fans ready for that? A successful rebuild takes around 3–6 seasons. That’s not it; you have to watch the awful long season and enjoy losing. Can you, who are the most fearless, energizing and caring fans in the world take a handful of losing seasons?
