With Boogie on the bench in the final moments of the game due to foul trouble, Anthony Davis was absolutely fearless. He’s been in these moments before, where his team is in a closely contested battle with their opponent and he appears to be the Pelicans only answer in clutch time. In the final 16 minutes of action -that being the fourth quarter and overtime- Davis put up an unbelievable 24 points, which fueled New Orleans to a 125-122 victory over the Charlotte Hornets.
Davis also joined Hall of Famers Shaquille O’Neal and Moses Malone, as the only players ever to put up at least 40 points and 20 rebounds, without committing a single turnover. This game also stands as the third 40 point, 20 rebound performance of Davis’ career, second to only O’Neal for the most of such performances in the past 30 years.
