Former New York Knicks backup point guard took shots at his former team. Brandon Jennings was waived last week so that the Knicks can sign Chasson Randle.
The same week Jennings was waived by the Knicks, he signed with the Washington Wizards.
Last night, he made his debut coming off the bench. He had 0 points, 0-3 FG, and 2 assists. After the game, Jennings spoke with reporters about his new team and he’s feeling like he’s home already.
He took shots at the New York Knicks coaching staff.
“I’m in the same position I was in New York, but just in a better system for me personally.”
Then he took shots at his old teammates.
“I’m with a team that plays better together,” Jennings said, Per Chase Hughes.
Brandon Jennings was not happy in the locker room before he was released by the Knicks. Jennings said he wanted more minutes in the rotation, per Jeff Hornacek. Often Jennings would post on Twitter about his frustration he had with the team.
Without Jennings, the team has been playing the triangle more, and better. Since he left, the defense has also improved, holding three of the four opponents to under 50 points since his departure.
Jennings was averaging 8.6 Points, shooting a horrid 38% and 5 assists. He played a decent amount of minutes to be the sixth man (24 Minutes).
