According to BJ Armstrong, (Rose’s agent) Derrick Rose wants to stay in New York despite all of the trade rumors.
Rose, 28 years old, will be a free agent for the first time in his career at the end of the season. Rose is averaging 18 Pts 4 assist and 4 rebounds. He’s shooting an outstanding 86% from the free throw line. The only flaw with Rose’s game right now is that his defense is tremendously declining.
Rose has been included in recent trade rumors that almost happend. During the trade deadline day, the T’wolves back down from the deal. The deal was Rubio for Rose straight up. Tom Thibedou and the front office said they were looking for an upgrade at the point guard position.
Derrick Rose doesn’t fit the Knicks offense as he pointed out in an interview. He said “all of my points come from random shots.” Rose went on to say that he’s trying to get used to the triangle system. He said that the offense is different to him because most of his plays are ran when he’s sitting in the corner. He went on and said, “you know when plays ranned for me when I’m in the post.”
Earlier in the season, there were reports that Rose was seeking a max contract.
During an interview shortly after that report, Rose said he doesn’t play basketball for the money. He went on to saying that he hears what everybody saying about him on how he plays for the money.
