The New Orleans Pelicans and Houston Rockets both had new acquisitions making their debuts. This game received a lot of attention specifically because it was the first with Cousins in a Pelicans uniform but new Rocket Lou Williams got the last laugh via the scoreboard.
Cousins and Davis combined for 56 of the Pelicans 99 points. Cousins also blocked four shots and grabbed 14 rebounds. This game perhaps showed the need for depth on the team. The players around Cousins and Davis are at best second stringers with the exception of Jrue Holiday.
The Rockets on the other end of things have depth to spare. On a night where James Harden only scored 13 points the Rockets still won by 30!
New Rocket Lou Williams led the way for Houston scoring 27 points in his first game with the team. Williams was hot from beyond the arc going 7-11 from beyond the arc. The scary thing is Lou hadn’t gone through a single shoot around or practice with the team yet and he’s already lighting it up.
