Rumor: The Utah Jazz is interested in Lakers Guard Lou Williams. The Los Angeles Lakers want their first round pick. Williams is by far the best player this year coming off the bench, as he is currently making his case as the league’s Sixth Man of the Year. He is leading the league in bench players PPG and he’s also leading the Lakers in points per game.
Williams is having a career season with the Lakers, averaging 18.6 PPG (career high,) shooting 44.4% (career high,) shooting 38.5% 3pt (career high) and 3.2 APG.
The Utah Jazz currently hold the 5th seed in the Western Conference standing and are a 0.5 game from 4th seeded Los Angeles Clippers.
According to Ian Begley, some teams think that Lou Williams will be dealt before the trade deadline.
Teams that are in need of bench help and firepower will likely seek Lou Williams in a deal. Playoff contending teams like the Wizards, Jazz and Portland Trail Blazers are in need of some help with their second units. Williams could very well be a potential trade target for the Washington Wizards according to the Vertical.
The Los Angeles Lakers have been asking for the first round picks in any of their trade talks associated with Williams, as well as any of their other young core.
