We’re only just over one day removed from the announcement of the DeMarcus Cousins to New Orleans deal that shook the entirety of the basketball world. Many analysts believe that this could signal a chaotic trade deadline, and recent reports suggest that could very well be destined to happen. According to Amico Hoops, another All-Star could very well be on the market:
Per Amico Hoops–
The Trail Blazers are taking calls and willing listeners about standout point guard Damian Lillard, per Amico Hoops sources.
It should be stressed that no other major news outlets have joined Amico Hoops’ release, but that could very well be due to a difference in sources. Not only that, but a move involving Lillard has been heavily speculated this season due to the success of C.J. McCollum. Many believe that the future of the Blazers franchise should centered around McCollum, and reports of a deal involving Lillard will only increase that thought.
Lillard is currently averaging a career high in points and rebounds, with an astounding 25.7 points per game and 4.9 rebounds per game. He’s also sporting a solid 5.8 assists per game. All of which would explain why there is a market for the two-time All-Star.
There have yet to be any teams that have been tied to this deal, so be sure to stay tuned to @RealBallInsider for any further developments.
