Charles Oakley is not happy with the latest stunt that was pulled on him at Madison Square Garden. Charles Oakley said it might take him three to five years to feel right about returning to MSG according to the Undefeated.
Oakley called in to talk about what was going on and he took shots at NBA commissioner Adam Silver.
“Tricked him to being a part of a meeting with New York Knicks owner James Dolan,” Oakley said.
He went on and said the lost respect of some former Knicks players that were at the game sitting next to James Dolan. Oakley wants Patrick Ewing to speak up about the situation because he is a friend.
“Any time for Patrick Ewing to speak up, you think this would be it- he was my closest teammate who played with me,” Oakley said.
Adam Silver had to call Oakley’s best friend Michael Jordan to help calm him. They were on a conference call for at least 45 minutes according to the Athletic.
Oakley isn’t letting go of the situation. He is still emotional about it and feels like it will take him some time to recover.
“I’m not happy,” Oakley said. “I told them I’m not happy. They’re tryin’ to sweep this under the rug. I gotta think about this. They tried to tell me, ‘Let’s get some understanding around this.’”
Charles Oakley went on to saying that it might take him three years to come back to MSG.
“I told them in the meeting, ‘my understanding is, it might be three, four, five years before I come to a conclusion how I feel about the Garden.’”

Charles Oakley spent 10 years as a Knick and helped Patrick Ewing flourish in his role.
Dolan on if the Knicks should feel embarrassed for the last two days, “I would say that Charles should be embarrassed”.
On the Stephan A Smith show 98.7 ESPN, Charles Oakley claims that the media is portraying him as the bad guy. Oakley said the Knicks organization is lying about what happen. The Knicks are claiming that Charles Oakley started the argument when he came into the arena.
“Charles Oakley will never be allowed to enter MSG again, even if he purchases a ticket,” Micheal Kay told his audience.
James Dolan spoke with Micheal Kay on his radio show today and shared some of his thoughts on the situation.
“It’s not necessarily a lifetime ban,” Dolan then told Kay in his in-studio interview. “We need to keep the Garden a place that’s safe for everyone,” Dolan said.
James Dolan is claiming that Oakley has an anger problem and possible alcohol problem.
“Charles needs help,” Dolan said.
The Knicks released a full statement on what happened at the arena.
