Yesterday Adidas officially unveiled Damian Lillard’s third signature sneaker, the Dame 3. The base models feature an upper composed of a TPU yarn mesh to ensure durability, without compromising breathability or comfort. The entire upper is also an updated Techfit bootie, with unique and customizable side-panel lacing systems that provide maximum lockdown support.
Unfortunately, the Dame 3 does not utilize Adidas’ famous Boost cushioning system, but it does use the next best thing: BOUNCE. For these models, Adidas uses dual-density BOUNCE so that players can get a pretty responsive midsole without having to sacrifice a great court-feel. To top it off, or in this case bottom it off (outsole pun), Adidas uses a traction pattern inspired by his origins, featuring a TPU wrapped internal torsional plate. The plate is placed at the center of the foot to add stability.
The debut colorway, “Roots,” has already been released earlier this morning. The design of this colorway is meant to tell the story of Lillard’s coach Raymond Young. Apparently, Young used to have his players hold bricks in their hands when they were practicing their defensive stance to increase their strength and discipline. You can purchase a pair for yourself at the cost of $115, right here.
Here are a few more shots of the Dame 3, along with two extra colorways and their expected release dates:
