Alright, I’m gonna be totally honest with you.
I didn’t really watch too many of the games this weekend. Had a little more on my plate than usual, never the less though, week 2 was kind of like week 1. What I mean by that, is that nothing really major happened. Which is pretty normal early on in the season. Match ups aren’t the greatest, teams are still figuring stuff out, it’s understandable. So bear with me, this weeks edition won’t be as hot as it can be. Kind of like Saints running back, Mark Ingram, who is making me regret ever drafting him in fantasy. Really hoping for a big week from him. Oh well, let’s recap some of last weeks highlights.
Arizona Cardinals – We learned that Larry Fitzgerald is balling out in what’s supposed to be his farewell tour. 3 TD’s, 158 receiving yards in two games. Impressive stuff from the old man.
Atlanta Falcons – We learned that Matt Ryan might FINALLY be having the year of his life. He’s been mediocre all his career, after 2 weeks, he leads the league in passing yards.
Baltimore Ravens – We learned that the Ravens defense is capable of stopping anyone. After Q1, Cleveland didn’t score a single point again, blowing a 20-2 lead.
Buffalo Bills – We learned that their offense is a band of explosive receivers, and is looking pretty damn good at the moment. Their defense however, not so much.
Chicago Bears – We learned that Jay Cutler is the worst starting quarterback in the NFL. Oh wait. We already knew that prior to Monday Night’s whopping from Philadelphia.
Cincinnati Bengals -I honestly don’t know about this one, Cincy’s better than that.
Cleveland Browns -.We learned that even with an 18 point lead, the Browns are never guaranteed a dub until the clock hits triple zero’s.
Dallas Cowboys – Ok so maybe Dak Prescott is good after all!
Denver Broncos -#1 defense in the league. 2-0. Nothing else to talk about.
Green Bay Packers – We learned that Aaron Rodgers might be losing his touch. I know, I can’t believe it either. Had two huge late turnovers in last weeks contest.
Houston Texans – Brock Osweiler continues to prove me wrong, and I hate every bit of it. I’m confident my Pats will get him this time.
Indianapolis Colts – We learned that Denver’s defense is too much for Andrew Luck to handle right now, maybe too much for anyone to handle actually.
Jacksonville Jaguars – We learned that this offense isn’t having as much success as it did last season. Question marks towards Bortles, and his number one receiver, Allen Robinson.
Kansas City Chiefs – We learned that Cairo Santos might be the best player KC has right now.
Los Angeles Rams – Ok so either their defense is really good, or Seattle’s offense is really, really bad. I guess we’ll find out next week.
Miami Dolphins – We learned that if Miami wants to win some games, they’re gonna have to play good all four quarters, not jut two.
Minnesota Vikings – We learned that this defense is TERRIFIC. Made Aaron Rodgers look like Jay Cutler last week. Too much Cutler attacks this week, that’s how you know it was a rough week.
New England Patriots – We learned that Jimmy Garappolo is a beast! Too bad he’s all roughed up. Time to see what this Brissett kid can do.
New Orleans Saints – We learned that the Saints need to develop a running game cough cough,Mark Ingram, cough cough Currently 0-2 and facing the sizzling hot Falcons offense, Monday Night.
New York Giants – We learned that the Giants can play tough offense and defense, as of now, they should be early favorites to take the NFC East.
New York Jets – Like I said last week, Matt Forte will be a nice edition to this Jets offense. His 3 TD’s were the ultimate difference maker in the Thursday night contest.
Oakland Raiders – We learned that Oaklands cornerbacks aren’t the greatest right now. Their defense has given up over 800 passing yards, and 7 touchdowns in just two weeks combined.
Philadelphia Eagles – We learned that this Eagles D might be one of the leagues most underrated. Then again, they only had to play the Browns and Bears thus far.
Pittsburgh Steelers – We learned that even on an Antonio Brown bad day, this offense is still something of magic.
San Francisco 49ers – Still trying to figure this team out as well.
Seattle Seahawks – We learned that this offense is hurting. Hurting BAD. Only 3 points scored against L.A.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers – We learned that the Bucs are gonna have to adjust to being Doug Martin-less for a little while.
Tennessee Titans – We learned that Marcus Mariota is the real deal. Kid threw two late touchdown passes while down 15-3.
Washington Redskins – I still got nothing. I will say though, Cousins didn’t look so sharp in this divisional match. I’m sure Redskins fans did not like that.
Overall week 2 lesson – Having a strong defense is more valuable than having a good offense. That’s not an opinion anymore, it’s a fact.
Thanks for the scope, hopefully week three will be more eventful than week 2 was. See ya next time!
