So, I took to twitter and made a poll about what the Denver Nuggets should do with the 7th overall pick in this years draft and the results were surprising. At least to me they were. So far over 70% of the voters voted for Denver to trade the pick. You can vote yourself below:
Nuggets are shopping their lottery pick (#7) what should they do?

The Nuggets held the same draft position last year in the lottery and were able to select their point guard of the future Emmanuel Mudiay. Mudiay and Gary Harris formed a terrific young back court duo for the Nuggets and are expected to be the starters at the start of next season. These two youngsters were joined by 1st team all rookie Nikola Jokic, 2nd year center Jusuf Nurkic and the Nuggets young surprise 6th man of the year candidate Will Barton to form a promising talented core.
The Nuggets have one of the youngest more versatile rosters in the league and in addition to their 3 first round draft picks (7, 15 and 19) they are extremely likely to pursue trades on Thursday night to either add talent to their roster or set themselves up for the future. The Nuggets are deep at every position and although they are one of the younger teams in the league they also have veterans who could be potential puzzle pieces for a couple of teams to compete for a championship. The Nuggets have Danilo Gallinari, Wilson Chandler and Kenneth Faried who all have experience but are young enough to keep it up for a couple more years.
I have come up with 5 potential trades that we could see on draft night involving the Nuggets and their draft picks. I will list them in order from less likely to most likely. Enjoy.

1st. In this trade between Denver and Cleveland, the nuggets get the star they need in order to bring fans to the stands and it also opens up the small forward spot for either the 7th pick or a free agent signee. On the offensive end Denver would be deadly as they’ll have size and shooting ability from every position on the court. It will give Cleveland constant energy whether they bring Faried or Thompson off the bench and it gives them a small forward who could relieve LeBron James of some stress on the offensive end. Cleveland will also be able to match up with the Warriors’ small ball line ups in a more efficient way with Gallinari or James at the 4 spot.
Denver Receives: Kevin Love, Iman Shumpert, 2017 2nd rd Pick.
Cleveland Receives: Danilo Gallinari, Kenneth Faried, 15th & 19th picks.
2nd. In this trade Denver will get their star player in Jimmy Butler. Butler has been the subject of trade talk since early last season and the talks haven’t slowed down. Denver has been willing to trade their young center Jusuf Nurkic ever since his horrible start and the terrific start by Nikola Jokic. With the Bulls in rebuild mode and the possibility that they could lose their starting front court in Pau Gasol and Joakim Noah, the Bulls will be looking for a younger front court with more potential. The 7th overall pick gives the Bulls an actual chance at Kris Dunn if they opt to trade Derrick Rose, or one of the prolific shooting guards Jamal Murray and Buddy Hield.
Denver Receives: Jimmy Butler, 14th pick.
Chicago Receives: Kenneth Faried, Jusuf Nurkic, 7th overall pick.
3rd. Another interesting trade can be a trade between Denver and Boston. The Celtics are currently in win now mode and you can’t win with a team full of young players. In this trade the Celtics will get a player they’ve been lobbying for for over a year now in Gallinari. They will also get an anchor in the paint with Jusuf Nurkic which is how Boston is comfortable playing. The Nuggets would do this trade just for the 3rd pick in which they can choose whoever they want aside from Brandon Ingram and Ben Simmons. They will also keep the 7th pick so they would be able to pick 2 of the top 7 players on their draft board.
Denver Receives: Amir Johnson, Tyler Zeller, 3rd overall pick.
Boston Receives: Danilo Gallinari, Jusuf Nurkic, 15th draft pick, Memphis 2017 1st rounder (top 5 protected)
4th. In this trade the Nuggets will try to get better right away by trading away their lottery pick for a young but established player in Kris Middleton. The Nuggets would be parting with their oft-injured forward Wilson Chandler and their explosive young guard Will Barton, but they will be adding the young athletic shooter Middleton. The Nuggets would also get Greg Monroe whom the Bucks have been trying to trade. Kenneth Faried would be able to bring energy off of the Bucks bench as they sign another center for their starting position.
Denver Receives: Greg Monroe, Kris Middleton.
Milwaukee Receives: Kenneth Faried, Will Barton, Wilson Chandler, 7th overall pick.
5th. This is the most boring of the 5 trades yet the most likely to happen. After the 7th pick, according to draft experts, the talent level decreases tremendously. Although I feel like outside of the top 7 selections have potential to be starters in this league, most don’t agree. With players such as Dejounte Murray and Timothy Luwawu’s draft value increasing I believe the Nuggets will attempt to move up with their two draft picks in the teens in order to secure one of these youngsters. With the Raptors not having any gaping wholes in their roster besides the power forward and no sure fire quality forward at the 9th spot. They can use the 15th and 19th picks to pick forwards and have multiple chances at landing a starting four man.
Denver Receives: 9th overall pick.
Toronto Receives: 15th & 19th draft picks.
