In this weeks 1ON1 we will be comparing James Harden and Klay Thompson. They are both elite shooting guards who could control the offense for an entire game. There are often debates about which one would be better to build a team around. Both are great 3-point shooters and have shown flashes of elite defense.
Harden is 25 currently leading the fast paced Houston Rockets to the fourth spot in the western conference. He has proven he could be the focal point of an offense and is efficiently leading the entire league in scoring. This season Harden is putting up a career high 27.4 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 6.8 apg and 2.0 spg while shooting 45.4% from the field and 38.5% from the 3-point line. Harden started out his career in Oklahoma City coming off the bench and playing along side the two explosive scorers Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook. He got traded to Houston in the 2012 offseason.
Thompson who is 25 as well is one of the best shooters in the game. He is scoring an extremely efficient 22 ppg white shooting 47% from the field and 44% from the 3-point line. Thompson is also averaging 3.4 rpg and 2.9 apg. Thompson has less pressure and defensive focus on him thanks to his running partner Stephen Curry who is equally as explosive as he is. This year Klay broke the all time record for scoring in a quarter dropping 37 point in the 3rd quarter of the Warriors vs Kings game back on January 23rd.
